Music makes me tick. I have wide and varied interests from science to environment to history and geography. However, music has been my one true maiden for my whole life. Through music I have seen the world, performed on Broadway, sung on national television jingles, and done background vocals for big name recording artists. And then I began to write music of my own. I got my masters degree in jazz voice performance late in my career, and now I have come home to share my experience with students in Grand Rapids. I hope to give them similar opportunities to the ones I had, one's which still shape my thoughts today. My work with the North American Choral Company (soon to become the Vocal Music Workshop), is very fulfilling. It allows me to teach, conduct, write, arrange, play and research music. And seeing the progression of the singers as they work throughout the year brings me great joy.
