Fragments of Communications in the Dustbin of Outer Space 2012
2012 ArtPrize EntryMy entry is a print from my ink drawing, a master image, is intended for an edition of prints. It revisits the theme "Do Not Kill" from my woodcut of the 1960's. My composition is a schematic landscape of outer space. The contour edges of shapes and words interlock to form a grid/lattice. The meanings stand on a mask/structure of the detritus of our time and culture. Th fragmented objects are the symbols in my vocabulary. The discarded move with the current within a plume in outer space. As a spark crosses the synaptic junctions in my brain may the ideas in my drawing cross to the viewer to form their unique connections and meanings from my visual statement.
