Good Luck Fish

2013 ArtPrize Entry
Add to Collection

Picture this... a giant black, gold and red Koi coming onshore to say "hello" to all the ArtPrize visitors. That's what I'm making this year. The piece will be made entirely of scrap metal donated from the shop I work at, so it's good for the environment! The dimensions for the Koi will be...9 feet tall at the top of the tail, 7 feet tall at the top of the dorsal fin, 10 feet wide between the pectoral fins and 14 feet long. Imagine seeing that coming out of the Grand River. Visitors will be allowed to touch the fish and maybe grab a fishing pole and pose for a photo opportunity. They say a Koi fish represents "good luck". So come by and give the fish a pat on the head or rub its back for good luck.
