After completing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University in 2004, & an Associates in Applied Arts from Lansing Community College in 2010, I found my place near downtown Lansing, Michigan. An artist and explorer by nature, I am captivated by colors and textures, finding unique varieties everywhere within the natural & urban environment. I incorporate them into my work, usually utilizing more than one medium. A graphic designer & communications professional, I work with community branding & promotion. I am exploring placemaking art through revitalization & community development efforts. I am heavily influenced by James Whistler with his perception of nature and beauty as the fundamental qualities of art, & methodology of treating painting as the poetry of sight. I am also fascinated with symbology, folk and native art and story telling, Greek Mythology, Native Alaskan Intuit Art, Impressionism, Art Nouveau & photojournalism.
