It's a 12ft high 4ft wide oil butterfly painting with a metallic background. I wanted to capture butterflies in motion. I also wanted the perspective to give you the feeling of floating up and away like a butterfly. The color intensity of the Monarch is something that has always captured my attention. The first painting I ever made was a watercolor when I was 12 yrs. old of a Monarch. My mother still has it hanging in her house today. This is my personal tribute to something so beautiful and native to our land! The Monarch is the queen of nature and this is how I came up with the title. I put a beautiful metallic gold cocoon at the center, I call "the golden nugget", and a caterpillar crawling above it. "Life is all about change. What seems never really is! One minute you feel stuck crawling on the ground and the next minute you're flying. So just be you and keep living life and you will find yourself flying! Change is the only certain thing in life so keep HOPE alive!"
