Head is the Clouds is an installation that explores the term "To have your head in the clouds". It's a whimsical term that everybody can relate to. We have all experienced having our heads in the clouds at some point. For me, it's usually daydreaming or lost in a trance of my imagination. Clouds, as a realistic form, are mystical as well as unpredictable. I think that our minds and imaginations are much like clouds. We wander in thought from one subject to another just as clouds wander and change with the direction the wind blows. My intent was to connect the human body to an object that physically is impossible in reality, supporting the term "Head in the Clouds". We physically cannot be within clouds, but wouldn't it be quite the experience to be able to connect with them? It is much like the way we connect with the ground, but only in a more whimsical and magical world.

Venue & Connection Information

The photo above is only the start to an expansion of what the final piece will be. I plan to have multiple "heads in the clouds" with various poses and body types. The pieces are light weight and need to be hung from the ceiling. If possible, high enough to where nobody can reach the pieces. I am flexible with space, but preferably in an open space. Even better with natural light or a well lit area. The sizes vary (the body part of the pieces are life sized).
