Traces of Innocence
Industrial style 10ft. x 10ft. replica of an old metal swing set. Each swing holds large, double-sided custom-made frames with photographs of my daughter, madelyn. The idea was originally based around certain places in Grand Rapids but as I create I am inspired by photographs I have taken from other areas, such as NYC and Cape Cod, MA. Each photograph portrays a moment of the innocence we all recall from childhood.. moments of beauty captured in an instant. There are also radio flyer wagons with photographs around and inside of each one. PLEASE! bring a rock.. paint it, write your name on it, or leave it be.. leave your innocence! This piece is wholly dedicated to my dear friend, Brian Briggs, whom recently unexpectedly passed away.
