I collect then use, and reuse and reuse... Kirk works in Kentucky and Ohio as a Sculptor and a Professor. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Coe College in 1997, emphasis in figurative ceramic sculpture. He received his Master of Fine Arts in 2000 from the University of Cincinnati's School of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning, emphasis in 3D; ceramic sculpture and performance. Currently, Kirk is employed as Instructor of Ceramics and Sculpture at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. He is the Facilities Manager and head of the Sculpture Department at the Funke Fired Arts Studio and Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Classes vary from traditional media and figure-centered to found-object, mold making and primitive pallet furniture. Kirk has also taught out of his private studio space as well as pottery classes at the Clifton Recreation Center for close to a decade. His exhibitions and additional collaborative works can be seen in the greater Cincinnati area. Collections include Nancy, France, North Carolina, Iowa, and New York. Kirk is a founding member of Thin Air Studio. TAS has been building large scale installations since 2002.
