Sowing Hope
2012 ArtPrize EntryI created my mural, "Sowing Hope" to honor the women who have been assisted by the international non-profit organization, SowHope. Founded by local resident, Mary Dailey Brown, SowHope empowers impoverished women around the world. By providing wellness, educational, and economic opportunities, SowHope helps to alleviate the suffering of some of the world's poorest and most deserving women. Through the use of textural mediums, a palette of earth tones, and a frameless presentation, my mural captures the ruggedness of the lives of these women. Despite the heavy burdens they bear in providing for their families, they persevere with fortitude and grace in order to sow hope for their children's future.
