Kevin Draper is the Artistic Director of Satellite Collective, a New York City-based non-profit that serves as an international arts accelerator for artists to create and perform forward-thinking work. Draper works in the visual and performing arts, and writes extensively for film, spoken word, and librettos. Trained as an architect, Draper develops installations and visual works in collaboration with choreographers, composers, writers and film makers. Draper's collaborations have been noted in the New Yorker, and Time Out, and reviewed in the New York Times, among other publications. He has developed his technique to incorporate intense visual compositions with studied movement, ultimately arriving at large scale art and installations that create virtual architecture. Kevin's writing has been used for short film, dance, multimedia and song cycle forms. Kevin holds degrees in architecture and engineering from the University of Michigan, a graduate degree in Architecture from Tulane University, and an MBA from Notre Dame University. Kevin serves as a member of the Tulane School of Architecture Board, and acts as President of T. T. Handicraft Development Company, a Tibetan artisan venture located in Shangrila, Tibet (China).
