Bio: Artist: Kerry Mott Age: 31 Home: Gettysburg, Pa College: Mount Holyoke College Degree: Neuroscience and Behavior Medium: Duct Tape Website: www.kerrymott.com My involvement with duct tape began in high school when I started making bags as a hobby. Soon, the bags became more elaborate in design, and led ultimately to the idea that duct tape could be a beautifully tactile medium for art. My current work is best described as duct tape pointillism. I carefully cut very small pieces of duct tape and layer them on top and alongside each other until they form a greater, recognizable whole. It is quite a time consuming (sometimes hundreds of hours per piece) and delicate process, but it yields stunning results. The finished product is art that you want to touch. I have received numerous awards including 3 People's Choice awards. Several of my pieces can also be found in Ripley's Believe It or Not museums. I also received a Guinness World Record of "Largest Duct Tape Artwork" for my work from last year's Artprize, which is now hanging in a Guinness museum!
