I'm a Grand Rapids native, and an honors graduate from Kendall College of Art & Design '04. My favorite medium is acrylic for its versatility. Have exhibited in many art shows. Exhibited art at GR ART Group. My favorite subject is nature, and interesting landscapes that express a story. The subject of my entry is meant to reflect the courage of our unsung heroes, firefighters. On June 13, 2001 a dilapidated old farm house was offered to the fire dept. for a training exercise. This helps them learn how fire is alive, breathes and how it consumes a building. During this controlled burn no one was injured. This painting is a small tribute to these unsung heroes. I was a student at Kendall College during this time and thought it would make an interesting painting.
