Torn between the creative world of art, and the logical world of science, Kate Meyer blends these divergent perspectives into her art. Her ongoing body of work examines the intricate relationship between our hearts and our minds, dissecting how our internal and external influences alter our life’s path. Her medium of choice is encaustic - a luminous mixture of beeswax, resin, and pigment that allows her to create both visual and structural depth in her work. Kate studied photography and fine art before earning her B.S in Ecology from Michigan State University.
