Let Us Bite The Hands That Feed
2012 ArtPrize EntryInk pens are used in creating the faces and hands through solid lines and crosshatching. The main image is then cut out using an x-acto blade and then layered with other pieces of bristol board, they are then cut out and layered again. This process is repeated until the desired depth and detail are created. Layers within the image are carried into the background and foreground starting from a central sheet of paper. The layers in the image cast shadows that change the personality of the image with the change of the light source.
