Spirit Guides

2012 ArtPrize Entry

I like to view Spirit Guides as how each one of us is connected to nature. Nature speaks to us in symbolic ways. There is a special way of communicating with nature through touch, smell, visually appreciating natures beauty, planting seeds, and receiving nourishment from the earth. If you take this a step further, you can also see how animals and nature communicate back to us. This can happen through serendipitous encounters with nature and by recognizing what each natural element symbolizes. Everything that happens to us in nature is telling us something. I use the encounters I have with other animals as a way of learning something new about myself or about my current situation in life. Often, these encounters reveal something new to me or it reflects my emotional state of mind. This is my way of receiving guidance from nature and my spirit guides.
