MULTIPLE LIGHTNING STRIKES
2012 ArtPrize EntryThis painting is dedicated to our military armed forces veterans. Past, present, and future, for their bravery, sacrifice, and service to our county. The inspiration for this painting comes from my grandfather Raymond Foley, my father John P.Foley the first, also my close friend and brother- in-law James L. Polley. The P-38 Lightning played a major roll in the victory's achieved by the United State's both in Europe and the Pacific Theater during World War II. This painting depicts the moment just before Major Thomas B. McGuire Jr. and his fighter squadron of P-38 Lightning's drop their long range fuel tank's to face the enemy.
