Special Species
2012 ArtPrize EntryThis work will be part public performance and part sculptural installation. I propose to flamework in glass the special and endangered plant species of Michigan In full view of the public in the plaza and install these glass plants around the plaza in subtle and unexpected places. This work will combine the traditional role of the carnival flameworker with the role of the artist naturalist. The proposed installation will be in the style of the entry images but will not enclude these specific works.
