Please join me for the duration of ArtPrize at the UICA, where my window installation will be evolving. I will be there everyday adding to it and I invite the public to come participate. As of Sept. 8th my installation is made up of 100,000 small translucent plastic circular shapes that stick together to form infinitely larger forms I call Synthetic Organisms. They are symbols of creation that reference cells and the organisms they come together to form in the natural world. With this piece I am exploring our foray into the future of the construction of life by mimicking forms/formations found in nature with synthetic materials, but more importantly I want to elicit a sense of wonder that you the viewer may not have experienced since childhood. A curiosity caused by being presented with the unknown. Seeing but not knowing what your other senses should expect upon further investigation. This entry also includes a series of 7 paintings ranging from 5' x 6' to 5' x 10'.
