Ocular Illumination

Ocular Illumination reflects how many different ways things in the world can be seen through the eye of the beholder. Symbolism is significant throughout the piece. Just like the hummingbird sees the world in a different ray of light, so does the cicada while we humans view the world in our own singular vision. This work goes beyond the observation by the naked eye understanding that we are all in the world and are filled with our own essence of light. While mankind continually looks to understand why we exist, illumination can come to anyone who wants to see. The light within guides us to that understanding while illuminating our individual paths. In the end, the meanings and associations will be purely up to viewers and solely depends on how they will regard viewing something entirely new.
