Untitled no. 1 (from the peculiar manifestation of paint in my everyday life)

Jennifer Cronin's avatar Jennifer Cronin

Sitting on the surface of the canvas, the painterly liquid invades the figure’s intimate, personal space, infusing it with horror, drama, tension, beauty, and mystique. The figure sleeps casually and trustingly, belly-up. The paint hovers ominously above, a collection of restless energy and rampant brushstrokes, negating the peace and quiet throughout the rest of the painting. Slowly seeping toward the figure, the energy and brushstrokes wait to invade, like a dream that starts out good but suddenly shifts into something bad.
