Thankfully, I was raised on a very healthy musical diet of the Beatles, Vivaldi, Classical Indian sitar music, and Kenny Rogers. My parents were constantly listening to music and one of my favorite activities in the world was playing my record player all day long. At that age I so enjoyed being able to simply swim into the melody and feel surrounded by the production on the record. After graduating college I holed up in a bare-bones basement studio and put my tascam 4 track to the test. Over three years I spent countless hours discovering my own songwriting process. It was a magical time for me in my musical life...and I miss the sound of the furnace kicking in when the temperature would drop. I find myself wanting to recreate those same melodies and production sonic landscapes that provided the aural background for my youth. Each record I create is my attempt to create something to swim in...to get lost in...and to feel good listening to.
