I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and received a BFA at the Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA from Northern Illinois University. After briefly living in Chicago, I took a full-time position at Kendall College of Art and Design. I was Chair of the painting program for 10 years and was instrumental in establishing the MFA Program in Painting and the BFA in Painting. I have received grants from Arts Midwest/Regional NEA, Art Serve Michigan, the Michigan Council for the Arts, and the Arts Foundation of Michigan. I am also included in the NEA Fellowship Archive at the Smithsonian Institute. I have had numerous solo exhibitions at art centers, colleges and museums including group exhibitions at Woodward Gallery in NYC and Brenda Taylor Gallery in the Chelsea Gallery district. My art has been published in Direct Art Magazine and most recently in Studio Visit Magazine. My work is also included in several public collections such as Grand Valley State University, Kalamazoo Institute of Art, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Muskegon Community College, Pratt Graphics Center as well as private collections.
