As War, As Dance

In their book "Metaphors We Live By", George Lakoff and Mark Johnson expand upon the metaphorical natures of communication and human understanding, suggesting that a change in metaphor can alter how we perceive any given phenomena. "As War, As Dance" is an abstraction of two possible understandings for argument, as discussed in the aforementioned text. We live in a world of philosophical conflict, which is understandable given the limitations of human perception. However, as we enter into this labyrinth of philosophies on a daily basis, I cannot help but wonder what the world would be like if we understood debate as a waltz rather than a battle.
