John (Jack) Moga is a practicing pastel artist and painter recently located to Grand Rapids from Naples, Florida. Originally from Detroit, Moga holds a BFA from the University of Michigan and an MFA from the University of Windsor. Always interested in art, history and design, Jack has worked in developing museum exhibits and his art. The variety of museums includes the historic collections of the Henry Ford Museum; the art collection of the Neville Public Museum; the nautical collection of Door County Maritime Museum; the Children’s Museum of Memphis; the living history collection of Heritage Hill State Historical Park; the fine art collections of the Artrain; and Florida Seminole's material culture of the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum. Married with two adult sons, Moga enjoys travel and theater and has performed on stage and worked back stage. Applying his talent for design and detail, Jack has worked as set designer, set dresser and scenic painter for professional and community theater, and in film. Moga now works with Grand Rapid's "Painting With A Twist" using his talents as artist and performer to present a night’s entertainment for the novice painter.
