You’re space is a venue for ArtPrize 2013. Great! Now you just need some artists. Here’s a simple guide to how the process works. The Connections Period begins April 29 and end June 20 at 5:00 pm.

1. Check for Requests from Artists

Artists are on the hunt for the right venue for their work, and a few (or a lot) of them have probably found your venue listed on the website. When artists request to connect with you, they’ll be listed under “Requested” in the “My Connections” area of the website.

You can also request connections with artists, but it’s easier to let them come to you.

2. Confirm Interest in Artists You Like

Under “Requested”, check out the artists in the “Incoming Connection Requests” list. When you find ones you like, click “Yes” to confirm that you’re interested in showing them. Once you do this, they move from “Requested” to “Pending” (you’re not married yet, you’re just acknowledging their crush).

3. Talk to the Artists and Send Them a Hosting Agreement

At this point you need to talk to your artists about the specifics of working together. Send them an e-mail or give them a call, their contact info is on their profile.

Once you agree on specifics (like where the work will be installed, when it will arrive, who installs it, etc.) you need to modify the Hosting Agreement template to include this information, and send it to the artist to be signed. The Hosting Agreement is a contract between you and artist that details all the specifics of your working relationship. It must be signed by both parties before your connection can be completed.

4. Complete the Connection (Deadline: June 20, 5:00 pm EDT)

As the final step, both you and the artist must confirm that you have signed the Hosting Agreement. Find the artist in your “Pending” list and click “Yes” to confirm that it has been signed, then the artist must do the same on their end. That’s it, you’re connected!
