The Time is Now

This is a painting about the excitement of life. Bunnard is our aging, widower, English spot. He is an everyman; he is lonely, hungry, scared, happy, hopeful, and tired. He is in his silver years alone after a half a decade living with his mate. But I look into his eyes as he is about to rip alfalfa from my hand and bound across the room and all I can see is the excitement of the moment and life is coursing through his little bunny heart. Because none of us have a choice of how life is going to turn out but if we still have the ability to kick up our heels and race about the room shouldn’t we?
