The Grand River is the river running through the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, among the most visible public venue locations in all of Artprize. Since Artprize's inception, the Grand River venue has been host to some of the event's most challenging and memorable installations. This year the venue is open to invited artists only. In 2015, for the second consecutive year, the Grand River will be curated by the Arts Council New Orleans. Despite the listed visitor hours below, the Grand River site can be visited 24 hours a day.

• Earliest permissible date for an installation at this location is SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. EST • All installations need to be removed no later than OCTOBER 17, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. EST. • Artists will be required to submit signed and sealed plans, stamped by an engineer registered in the State of Michigan to the City of Grand Rapids Development Center and the curator assigned to the Grand River. In addition, a letter from the engineer will be required that clearly states there will be no negative impact on water quality, river flow or river levels and in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations described in the current permit as issued by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
