This year we are inviting pieces themed/inspired or otherwise related to our programming schedule for October 2012-July/August 2013: FLAT STANLEY, CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, LEGALLY BLONDE, CHANGING MINDS and 12 DANCING PRINCESSES. PRIMARY LOCATIONS FOR ART There are two highly visible outdoors spaces. 1 is corner of Divsion & Library about 6'x12'x12' suitable for 3-D; other Monroe Center & Division by Civil War Monument 6'x6'x6' suitable for 2-D or shallow 3-D. 4+ Display windows 2.5'x3-5' around the building. Art will be interior, view will be from exterior

Grand Rapids Civic Theatre & School of Theatre Arts, founded in 1925 has grown into one of the largest community theatres in the country. The Theatre is in the process of a major capital and endowment growth project. In 2006, a major renovation of the facility led and managed by Grand Action invested over 10 million dollars in the Theatre’s four historic buildings. In the Fall of 2006, Civic Theatre’s artistic home, was renamed the Meijer Majestic Theatre in honor of Fred and Lena Meijer’s lead gift to this project. Civic Theatre completed the project with a 2.3 million dollar endowment and theatrical equipment campaign. Each year, Civic Theatre creates over a dozen productions and over 15000 hours of educational instruction. These programs are made possible by over 700 volunteers under the leadership of 9 professional staff and over 30 guest artists.
