Dendral Equinox Overgrowth

Giant Enemy Bear Vote Code: 53307
  • Image description

*Photo as reference only* In this, Giant Enemy Bear's first major collaborative work, we will be arranging relief printed dolls on cloth fabric on and around the landscaped areas of Calder Plaza. These dolls will be, strange, fat, scary, and off kilter, arranged as lumps of dolls, strung from tree to tree, and further interacting with the landscaped, controlled, environment. This installation is an attempt to change a typical urban land space into a wilder, place of possibility. We no longer approach the dark corners of our minds with zeal. We have asphyxiated them, bogged them down with bills, fixing our cars, houses, and relationships, or what we can do best to fit into this world. Reading and watching movies can give us a glimpse into what we had, help us relive our past adventures, but only as a reminiscent feeling, a passing fantasy. Our installation is to give them reason to remember the wonderful, repulsive, and horrifyingly exciting imagination that we all possess.
