This is a pastel painting of an antique doily and a favorite cup and saucer from my late mother-in-law's collection. I am currently doing a series of paintings using old ceramic pieces, fruit, and antique doilies or tablecloths. I love to paint the different textures found in the lace, the ceramic pottery and the shiny fruit. I am enjoying scouring the antique stores in Grand Rapids to find just the right piece of old lace or doilies or tablecloths to complement the old pottery pieces that I have acquired over the years.
