First United Methodist Church

  • 0

The early Christian church was one of the greatest patrons of the arts, so we believe that it is natural that today both artists and observers find the church as home to the arts and a place to hear God’s voice through artistic expression. For 42 years, First United Methodist Church has presented its annual "Celebration of the Arts", one of the largest juried spiritual art shows in the U.S. Works have included artists from many faith and spiritual traditions.

Artist & Connection Information

This year, our ArtPrize venue will be an outdoor venue only. We will be hosting a Lot Party featuring food, children's activities and entertainment, on the first weekend. We have space along Fulton Street on either side of Barclay, as well as a side yard. Our selection committee is composed of artists and experienced volunteers who will assist the Exhibition Director (Director of Music and Arts) in selecting artists for Art Prize. First United Methodist Church has a standing art gallery throughout the year. The church has outside grass covered areas adjacent to both Fulton and Barclay Streets providing views for pedestrians and motor traffic alike.
