Two family friendly art workshops to create your very own Luminary Sculptures are being offered by the First United Methodist Church, in downtown Grand Rapids. Let artists from WonderFool Productions guide you through the creative process of transforming simple wire, tissue paper, glue and LED lights, into a luminous moonlit sensation that’s fun for the whole family. On September 28th bring your amazing illuminated creation to be showcased in FoolMoon, a giant nighttime processional that winds its way through downtown Grand Rapids during one of ArtPrize’s busiest weekends. Ann Arbor’s WonderFool Productions is thrilled to offer its popular creative workshops to community members in the Grand Rapids area. “Moonagerie” is the theme for this year’s FoolMoon processional where hundreds of creatures, both real and imagined, will dance and bob in ethereal splendor above the crowd at ArtPrize. FoolMoon’s grand processional starts at the Grand Rapids Public Museum at 7:30pm on Saturday September 28th and arrives at Rosa Parks Circle at 8:00pm. From there the fun continues as FoolMoon’s participants and spectators meander through downtown Grand Rapids ending up on the south lawn of the Grand Rapids Public Museum to enjoy a Grand Celebration featuring luminary art, video projections, music and more!
