Erik Holladay is a photographer and visual artist who in 2009 left his passion for journalism to open his own business in Kalamazoo, MI. He started taking photographs for newspapers as a 15 year-old for a Grand Rapids, MI based weekly newspaper. Holladay graduated from Forest Hills Central High School and is an alum of Grand Valley State University. He became a member of the staff at the Grand Rapids Press in 1995, then moved to the Flint Journal briefly and landed in Jackson in 2005. He recently has started teaching at Michigan State University. A sports enthusiast, he plays anything that uses a ball and has just recently discovered how friggin hard it is to do yoga. A self-confessed information nerd he surfs the net, reads an absurd amount of books a year, and enjoys downing various flavors of beer with workmates and friends.
