I am Edward Casagrande, "Bridging Humanity" on The Gillette Bridge. Celebrating the SPIRIT OF PLACE, MOMENT and HUMANITY VOTE NUMBER 53428 Welcome travelers to this special Bridge. The nature of a bridge is to gather two things with a celebration of that connection at the center. This landmark - between the WESTERN passage and the EASTERN passage - host our INSTANT community. You are the ever changing slice of humanity that we celebrate during your journey across the Grand River. It is the intention of the Bridging Humanity sculptures to nurture good intentions and to help those intentions be realized as tangible benefits for this community. To celebrate the bridging humanity sculptures, Countryfresh Foods will donate ONE POUND of food to Feeding America West Michigan for every registration on http://www.facebook.com/BridgingHumanityForArtprize2012 Over 22,000 pounds have been donated!

Venue & Connection Information

This grand scaled installation must use the entire length/ width of the Gillette Bridge to resonate with meaning. I respectfully ask for a "solo" exhibition on the bridge! I chose this site because of the simplicity of the bridge, the simplicity of the context...water below and sky above and because it would best resent, convey and express my sculptural objective. http://www.facebook.com/BridgingHumanityForArtprize2012
