In the Old Castle Stuttgart, Germany a number of ancient dresses of the 18th and early 19th century had been exhibited. The figurines without heads but elaborately done dresses of ladies and gentlemen had an enormous presence. I wished to grasp the essence of the elegance and quality in my work. My main sources of inspiration in art became works of English and American Pop Art. I liked and still do the relaxed attitude towards the themes, materials and ways to use the things. Working for the State`s Theatre Stuttgart department of garments, dresses and models influenced my whole attitude of work, gave me the idea of doing, destroying and then repainting out of the ruin. The idea of the fragment, torso or unfinished beauty, as is found also in Japanese Art that I studied at the Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku, is a "topos" also of European Art since the Renaissance. This sculpture reflects the romantic idea of the torso or the completed fragment using any kind of material that fits.
