Dwellings

This collage, "Dwellings", represents different types of habitats throughout the world and the people who occupy them. From urban and country dwellings to tree houses and igloos, this piece shows the variety of places people use to survive. Some people live in sophisticated structures and some are forced create their own out of necessity. The papers I use are from recycled magazines and wrapping papers. Because of my interest in textile design, pattern and color, my collages usually have a border of strips of torn paper adding unity and rhythm to the composition. There is no paint, no pens, no pencils, no scissors used to create my artwork, only torn paper and glue.
