This piece is a tribute to all inventors and scientists whose dreams reflect the unlimited potential of human ingenuity. Many were labeled “mad” for their dogged investigations into everything from human flight to robots and space exploration. While many of these early attempts were disastrously unsuccessful, they served as the foundation for later, successful inventions. As the wild imaginings of history's “mad scientists” have become reality, we'd be wise to respect the creative experiments of today's “mad scientists.” For now, a Time Machine remains the fantasy of science fiction novelists -- but then again, it might be inevitable. It’s only a matter of time. The focal point of this mixed-media construction is an imaginative water-powered, kinetic sculpture sitting atop a vintage television set. Viewers press “Start” to activate the sculpture and computer controlled video and light show.
