Price Tags
2012 ArtPrize EntryFreedom is a word that is largely taken for granted by most people. Not much thought is given to the cost of that privilege, yet many people have paid the ultimate price for that right we enjoy in this Country. For many who have put their lives on the line, a symbol of that cost is the dog tags worn on chains around their necks. The metal identification tags used by soldiers were first worn during World War II. "Price Tags" is a series of seven paintings depicting the price that has been paid and is a tribute to all who have served this Country to maintain our freedom.
