Lies and Deceit

Mirroring the artists own experience with health crisis and the aftermath, the painting reflects the different elements that enter the human life. Hope and Grace are reflected in the Hill of Galgotha (Place of the Skulls), which also shows all the lives snuffed out by disease. The swirling winds are the different methods of cures, medicines, and surgeries. The stunned patient, wrapped in grave cloths, looks upon the strange world that she is suddenly thrust into. The wrapped figure hovers over the figure stripped of all security and exposed to loss of faith. The figure in the background is being grabbed by the whirling doubts (flying shapes). The City of doom and disaster looms in the mists, grim and forboding.
