Wish you were here...
2011 ArtPrize EntryVideo postcards exploring place, both natural and architectural. Wish you were here... is a looped video DVD of six experimental animations. These video postcards are from Spain, Hot Springs National Park, Porcupine Mountains State Park, Ukraine, and Grand Rapids, MI. Light sweeps across a lawn, across tiles, and flowers erupt in a riot of color. Each piece runs 1 - 5 minutes, with a total looped running time of 22 minutes. Deanna Morse is an independent filmmaker and her work has been screened internationally, broadcast on Sesame Street, and is represented in permanent collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is a professor of Film/Video in the School of Communications, Grand Valley State University. All proceeds from sales of the Wish you were here... DVD are donated to the Dirk Koning Film/Video Scholarship at GVSU, supporting students who plan to make media for the social good.
