I've come to realize the artwork I have created for the past 40+ years is nothing more than a physical manifestation of intuition and improvisation. Artists feel obligated to describe the feelings and thoughts of their inspiration. I believe that language will continuously fail at describing something I believe is metaphysical. For many years, people have described my work as unfocused or inconsistent. I have never made it a goal to develop a particular style but rather to develop a creative flow that can be directed and focused on the project at hand. I have worked in countless styles and continue to explore, resisting any particular destination. If I have a new idea or new material I wish to explore I don't hesitate, I just start. There is no resistance. The only way I can describe the process is to think of myself as merely a facilitator. There is no better feeling than working exhaustively both physically and mentally for hours and suddenly realizing you’ve transformed a blank canvas into something the world has never seen.
