In our 3rd year participating in ArtPrize we welcome 3 dance artists, Heather Vaughan-Southard, Angie Yetzke and Amy Wilson. Dance artist, Heather Vaughan-Southard focuses on the role of dance in the development of innovative, critical thinking. Her piece "Process/Progress" explores the interweaving of art, dance, community, culture, education, humanities, and technology. Angie Yetzke is a freelance choreographer from Michigan and faculty at Hope College. Her "Intent Made Tangible" will debut at this year's ArtPrize with dancers reacting kinesthetically to the sight, sound, form and function of the art and architecture found throughout the city. Amy Wilson is the Artistic Director of Dance In The Annex and dance faculty at GVSU. Her piece "She Holds These Truths" explores the roles women play in society, individually and with one another. Dancers explore their separateness and interconnectedness as they struggle, confront, retreat and summon strength to come forward.
