Elements of desire
The multiple figures, which populate my recent illustrative works, share narratives that are compelling, encouraging the viewer to project their own stories and points of view into their interpretations. Much of my work brandishes a sort of ambiguous eroticism – a vague sexual tension that shows through imagery that I depict. The women that I depict within the shiny luxurious boxes, Elements of Desire are based heavily on drawings, outlines and structures. These illustrations encompass substance in form, line, surface, texture and color and the relationship between them. My images have a graphic feel with a sketchy quality. The swirling configurations of this conglomeration of detailed sketches, combined with the dream-like moods of the background patterns, bring my art into the realm of the contemporary world.
