Dale Wayne fell in love with recycling plastic bottles in 2004 when Dale Chihuly’s masterpieces were featured at The Orlando Museum of Art. “I was wracking my brain for a way to create glass like forms without the huge equipment larger works require. It occurred to me that I could cut, paint, and manipulate plastic drink bottles with heat to create organic forms that mimic glass.” Since then Wayne’s recycled plastic sculptural works have been featured in an HGTV make-over, and in magazines, newspapers, and web-sites across the country. Her recycled bottle Christmas tree is in the permanent collection of the Orlando Museum of Art ‘s annual Festival of Trees. Her work includes Orlando's Museum of Science Earth Day 2011, an Artist in Residency in 2012 at Ann Marie Sculpture Garden, a Smithsonian affiliate, Earth Day Winter Park FL, Trees of Peace, and presenting at the National Art Education Association in 2014.
