Sjor

Sjor - It is an intricate illustration created with Faber-Castell ink pens and Prisma color markers on a thick cotton rag paper. The fine lines of the long rolling waves of the sea provide the background for the girl standing on the shore with her hair in the wind. In her hand is a long simple string holding onto a jellyfish. Dreams and hopes can be fragile, delicate and can often sting - just like a jellyfish. The rolling waves are cleansing and soothing, while at the same time can pull one and one's dreams out to sea if you are not careful. The little splashes of color stand bold contrasted against the black and white. It was my hope to convey the feeling of movement, breath and space in this piece - my goal to have the you feel the soft wind and hear the waves rolling on the shore. Music, poetry and time in the natural environment spark my ideas for creation - key elements inspiring all of my artwork. The artwork will be matted and framed for display.
