City Art Gallery enjoyed being a 2011 venue, hosting 23 artists, many which were consistantly featured in the Monroe North top 10 (www.artprize.org/2011/city-art-gallery for 2011 profile & artists). As a gallery, the building is set up for displaying art, 5 separate rooms along with hallway, complete with track lighting. Patio/garden space is the perfect backdrop for sculpture & 2D work that can withstand outdoor weather. The patio is fenced in with a locked gate after hours, but is also one of our main entrances so the art will be readily seen by all visitors. Outdoor space around parking lot is also available for exhibiting work. Easy access for artists & visitors, free parking lot and street parking. We will market our ArtPrize work through our website, facebook page, twitter, email list, & printed material. Work by our gallery artists will also be on display which will bring in even more visitors to our venue. We will be open normal gallery hours and extended ArtPrize hours.

City Art Gallery is located in the Monroe North Business Neighborhood, a turn of the century industrial hub. Open since June 2011, our exhibits include work for sale from over 30 local artists (painting, photography, fiber art, glass, wood, ceramics, and jewelry), showcasing original work by emerging area artists. City Art Gallery's location with easy access (and free parking) just south of Leonard, also enables us to participate in many Grand Rapids community art events including Art.Downtown and ArtPrize.
