Trillium I & II
2012 ArtPrize EntryAs a studio artist, I enjoy experimentation with new materials. This is a way for me to approach work with a beginners mind. I will be doing a series of small paintings using encaustic as the medium. I will explore the boundaries between abstraction & representation in form, concept & spirit. What interests me as an artist are not only the formal concerns of painting, but the unexpected connections, the unintended meaning that finds it's way into a work. Engaging in making art, is to me a way to engage in the mystery of spirit.
