How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place
2012 ArtPrize Entry“How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place” is my exploration of the beauty of God’s residency in the hearts of his people and in the wonder of his creation, as seen throughout the Bible, but especially in the book of Psalms. Nature is used as a literary reflection and example of God’s power, and as the place in which God dwells, throughout the book of Psalms. In addition, Psalm 46 speaks of God being within “her” and helping “her” to not fall. Keeping that in mind, while looking at flowing shiny fabrics and the beauty of my subjects, I see a reflection of the natural beauty of flowers and their petals; an example of God’s power through nature, and as his lovely dwelling place!
