My piece will be a one of a kind bra to help raise cancer awareness. My inspiration for the bra stems from my Mother who embraced cancer with both strength & grace. My Mother was an amazing woman, my role model. She was very patient, graceful and always had a positive outlook on life. Cancer was not stopping her from living life to its fullest. We were blessed with 34 yrs with her after her diagnosis of breast cancer. Unfortunately, she succumbed to brain cancer last yr. As we all know Cancer is Big, Powerful, and Overwhelming. Each person diagnosed with cancer has a different experience; the beautiful part about the experience is that you learn to love yourself more for being stronger than you ever imagined you could be. The bra is a representation of what it means to make it through cancer. It is big, shocking, overwhelming and its beauty represents the person facing it head on. The straps & clasps represent support –the blessing of family and friends.
