Eclair Pêche

I am a first generation American of French decent on my mother’s side. All of my mother’s family still lives in Reims, France. One of the most wonderful things about France is the food, wine, and pastries. In France, cuisine is an art. The food is not only wonderful to eat, but also beautiful to look at. On my most recent trip to France, I was intrigued by the beautiful window display of the bakery “Weida” in my mother’s home town. Eclair Pêche, or Peach Eclair, is painted from the front window display of the bakery. I loved the pattern and variety of the shapes, combinations of colors, and the shadows cast on the window display shelf. What interested me the most, of course, was the subject matter.
